A delectable winter cocktail made for fireside consumption. Tweak the cherry syrup to maple syrup to number of muddled cherries to suit your taste. You really can’t go wrong. A mix of black walnut and creole bitters hit the mark for me.

I’ve never heard of Vegetal and had to look it up. Now I’ll be on a quest to find it ! I’m in the US
Try Bev Mo if there is one in your area.
Lovely this way and also over a rock in an old fashioned glass. Different expressions. I prefer it with 80 proof and cynar 70, going to try it with rye…
Really enjoyed this one. It defies easy categorization in the best way. The essence of tiki, like tiki in its work week clothes. I liked it with a touch less orgeat (1/2 oz) but also great as is. Nutmeg really in play and it adds so much.
I love this drink and I have and almost full bottle of green Chartreuse but now save for very very special occasions …found and have almost used the whole bottle of Dolin Genepy as a substitute and does extremely well…just a tip to my discerning friends!
I safeguard my bottle of green Chartreuse as well. I’ve found Luxardo Del Santo with a few drops of Vegetal de la Grande Chartreuse to be a closer substitute for green than Genepy. I use Genepy as a sub for yellow Chartreuse, also with a few drops of Vegetal. In any case, must have my sub because the Last Word is always in my rotation.
Delicious cocktail and perfect afternoon summer sip. 1oz blanco and 2/3 mezcal as an alternative adds a nice smoky twist.
No Pamplemousse liqueur so I subbed homemade apricot liqueur as well as Regan’s Orange for the bitters and it was lovely. A left-hand Monkey Wrench perhaps?
I was out of reposado so made it with a split base of blanco and mezcal and it was lovely.
Great cocktail. I subbed B&B on one round and made it with Dolin Genepy de Chamois and loved it. The B&B cut the sweetness that others observed.
