Ingredients:
1 23 oz Metaxa 12 Stars
34 oz Cointreau triple sec liqueur
12 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
112 oz Mastiha liqueur
14 oz Chilled water omit if using wet ice
4 drop Saline solution 4:1 (20g sea salt to 80g water)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

We misread Mastiha as Mastika and reached for our bottle of Grozd Strumica from North Macedonia. It's probably much closer to a Greek Ouzo than to the liqueur from Chios but, for us, it worked beautifully.
