Review

Approaching from Formosa Street, The Waterway looks like the dodgy 70s council estate pub it once was. Fortunately that's just the back view. The entrance lies on the north bank of the Grand Union Canal by a footbridge, meaning the pub not only looks over water, but also faces south. The façade is further enhanced by a 120 foot decked terrace and floor to ceiling glass doors.

The tad soulless modern interior is has something of a Scandinavian feel due to an expanse of white painted and bare slatted wood. The feel is more theatre cafe or museum restaurant than a gastro pub. The fairly serious eatery is separated from the bar by pillars.

The beer selection includes a couple of cask ales while the well categorised wine list boasts 14 wines by the glass. However, it's the surprisingly long list of well executed cocktails which makes this pub stand out and attacks attracts youthful and exuberant affluent drinkers.
