Review

Named after 'yaldi' (pronounced yawl-dee> or yal-dee), a Scottish slang term expressing joy or excitement, Yaldy may be an exciting new bar to Frankfurt (opened June 2020) but it's not Scottish. Indeed, Yaldy's food and drink menu lean more towards France, being described as being "Parisian" in style.

Yaldy does indeed boast the roadside brolly-shaded alfresco tables of a Parisian café but the food and drink offering is a step apart from Croque Monsieur. Wines are carefully chosen by co-owner Andrei Lipan, and a quality seasonal and locally sourced ingredient-based menu is enhanced by thoughtful food and wine matching suggestions. This is bolstered by the other co-owner, Michele Heinrich's cocktails as he continues to build upon the reputation he established at nearby The Kinly Bar.
