Review

The Builders lies tucked away in an imposing Georgian building among the posh residential streets between the Fulham and King's Roads. It is cosy and homely with comfy sofas, arm chairs, wooden floor, bookshelves, low lighting and a fireplace. Black and white photos of punters and staff adorn the warm panelled walls, boldly contrasted with several Dali prints. Many gastro pubs feel more like a restaurant, but the Builders has retained a quaint local pub feel.

The clientele is an upscale crowd of Chelsea types, drawn in part by the modern British menu. Typical dishes include 'Confit belly of Hampshire pig' and 'East London Steak Co. rib eye on the bone' as well as old favourites such as Sunday roast.

There's a good wine selection on a well presented list with over 30 available by the glass, chalkboards over the bar listing a good range of sparkling wines and a choice of three cask conditioned ales on hand pump (including Doombar) for those simply after a pint in a cosy pub.
